Founded in 1933
Daniël Dewerchin took a huge step when founding a company that specializes in fashioning bed linen. Nobody then could foresee how the company would evolve. Today, it’s become totally clear that the drive for perfection has been the main thread running trough the company’s history.
Because quality needs a name, the Dewerchin company created a brand: Lysdrap. In the beginning, the brand was exclusively sold in Belgium. Now Lysdrap is marketed throughout Europe.
Through the years, the urge for quality has found its focal expression in the nobility of textile fabrics, in its personal yet often-rebellious design, and the self-developed and perfected finishing process using various techniques and procedures.
In the summer of 2007, the Dewerchin family sold the company. From that moment the company name change into Dewerchin&Caems. Peter Caems holds firm to the strongest point of the company, craftsmanship, which cut and sewn itself throughout their workrooms, because only then can exquisite finishing be guaranteed. Linen preparation using artisanal methods is the company’s unique advantage. This small group of specialized collaborators care that each piece of linen matches perfectly the wishes of its very discerning public.
Today, the Dewerchin&Caems company possess the ambition for international growth until it is recognized as one of the most prestigious bed linen producers in Europe. Achieving this not through mass production but through sophisticated collections, the choice of the textile, right down to the design and level of finishing. The aim is to satisfy devotees of beautiful bed linen, wherever in the world they may be.
